Present to US VCs at G'Day USA

NSW Trade & Investment is inviting innovative NSW green building companies to participate in a trade mission to the US West Coast from 11-20 January 2012. The trade mission will coincide with green building conferences and pitching events in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York as part of the G'Day USA 2012 program.

The US green building sector is expanding rapidly due to growing public awareness of green practices, increased government intervention, regulations and subsidies and recognition of cost, energy and health benefits. These factors make the US green buildings sector opportune for green buildings companies to expand their business, says NSW Trade & Investment.

G'Day USA promotes Australia to the US market to strengthen bilateral collaboration and realize business opportunities. The three week program from 11 to 29 January takes new business, education, entertainment, innovation and tourism events to eight cities - Palm Springs, San Francisco, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Diego, New York, Houston and Chicago.

The Cappello Investor Conference in Los Angeles will feature presentations from Australian companies to an audience of 150 institutional investors such as venture capital firm, hedge funds, mutual funds, and private equity firms. Companies wanting to take part in the Investor Conference will have to register with a fee of $2,000.

The program also features an Energy Efficiency Forum in San Francisco, Green Buildings Forums in Los Angeles and New York, and an Energy Conference.

The NSW Government has participated in the annual G'Day USA promotion since its inception in 2004. The event suits businesses with an internationally competitive technology or product, an interest in the US market, are seeking capital to accelerate and fund growth, want to identify potential business partners, and are capable of presenting to substantial US audiences.

Participating companies must be export ready with a turnover in the past financial year of $1 million for metropolitan or $500,000 for regional companies. Selection will be based on the ability of companies to demonstrate eligibility against these criteria. Financial assistance of up to $3,000 will be provided to selected companies to subsidize their participation.
